WEEK OF NATALIE: the end! (Featuring Amanda H)

TwirlThe final card from the Natalie Appreciation Card-making Challenge is from Amanda Hartmann, who was also inspired by Twirl!

Amanda says: So much beautiful inspiration in every post on Natalie’s blog, which made it hard to choose just ONE layout to be inspired by! However I chose this layout, primarily for its soft pretty colours and for the GOLD. One MUST use gold right now! To create my card, I replicated some of the the colours, with the white background, pink and pale blue papers and finished with gold and wood embellishments. I also loved the way Natalie layered tulle and vellum with machine stitching, so I also used that technique on my card. Even the cloud and scattered hearts are inspired from elements on Natalie’s layout. I hope that my Mum will love the card for her upcoming 60th birthday!

Amanda R is inspired by ‘Adventure’!

AdventureToday we’re featuring Amanda Reddicliffe who created a card inspired by Natalie’s ‘Adventure’ layout (on the left and a few more pictures via this link).

Amanda says: I was inspired overall by Natalie’s beautifully balanced and bright layout. The photo itself is darling, but to create a card that is inspired by this layout I pinched my fave parts of the layout – the dark border, bold papers, the touches of vellum, the love hearts peeking out from behind the photo, sewing and of course the square alpha’s she used.

Raquel is inspired by ‘Society 52 (with tags)’

Welcome to post two of the “Natalie Appreciation Card-making Challenge”. (Yes, I literally just made that title up then.) Today, Raquel Bowman, all-round amazing person and founder of A Piece of Cake Designs, is taking on the challenge.

She was inspired by Natalie’s Society 52 layout.

Raquel says: The tags were what drew me into creating a card using this layout as inspiration. I thought it was such a neat idea. I cut the tags with a tag die I had and also used a layering style at the top of the card to mimic the top of the layout.

Nicky is inspired by “Hello”.

This week, as part of the Week of Natalie, we’ve got contributors making cards inspired by Natalie’s layouts (either from her blog or her Studio Calico gallery). First up is Nicky Normandale.

Nicky says: I was inspired by this layout as it makes me feel like I am laying on the grass on a lovely day just watching the world go by. I decided to take the clouds and butterfly as the main inspiration for my card. I have been a fan of Natalie’s cute butterflies for some time and they have been on my “must do that sometime” list for just as long so what better time to try one than now! I also used a little layering, a little thread and stitched around the edges which are also little trademarks that you’ll find on her work along the way. Natalie has such a unique style and this is shown in every piece of work that she creates. Thanks so much for continuing to inspire me with everything you create and Happy Week of Natalie to you! xo
